PostCrossing

PostCrossing is an international postcard exchange. You sign up on the Web site and send a postcard to a random PostCrossing user in another country. All postcards have a unique ID that users are supposed to write on all sent postcards so that they can be registered when they are received. After your postcard is received and registered by the user you sent it to, you are put in the queue to receive a postcard from a random PostCrossing user outside of your country. After you’ve received the postcard, you register the postcard ID written on the postcard on the PostCrossing Web site. It’s not really all that complicated, I’m just bad at explaining. For a better explanation, visit the PostCrossing about section.

I have sent and received numerous postcards from all around the world. My PostCrossing profile has more statistics and such detailing my mailing habits. I’ve always loved sending and receiving mail (not to mention that I’m a stamp collector), so PostCrossing is great. The concept of having your address sent to a random person outside of your country might be a little scary to some, but I’ve never had any problems and as far as I know nobody else has, either.
