Guitar Hero

I’ve bought Guitar Hero for the Wii and I’ve been having lots of fun with it. I’m not very good at it so far (previously I had only played at friend’s houses) but I have improved very much in the short time I’ve had it. David and I are currently taking turns playing in his dorm room right now. He can play on expert but I’m still on medium. I’ll have to practice up so that I can beat him.

I’m taking the transition back to college life a bit hard. I just have to keep reminding myself that although it’s nice to visit home, living out of the house has great perks. It’s not so bad since I have David around to keep me company when I get down. That’s why we’re rocking out on Guitar Hero right now, speaking of which.

Perfect World is becoming addicting. I’m currently level 21 and I hope to level up again tomorrow if I can manage to keep from dying. You lose 5% EXP every time you die, and although that’s not a very high rate compared to some other games, it’s still EXP lost. I’m doing a lot of quests and that makes it easier to level - I love the EXP rewards. If anyone actually plays besides me, I might be able to get you a place in my sister’s guild called Euphoria. She’s looking for new members. I also need someone to help me with my level 19 FB quest, if anyone’s interested.

Getting back to business

I’m heading back to KSU tomorrow. I’ve got most of my stuff together. Luckily, my macroeconomics book came this morning (thanks to 3-5 day UPS shipping). So sometime tomorrow around noon I’m going to be driving for an hour on a very boring interstate highway back to college. Oh boy!

It’s amazing how much stuff I accumulate every time I go home. I’m going to be taking my Wii (and my various Wii accessories, including the Guitar Hero stuff I just bought today), along with all my books, laundry, and computer. I’m not looking forward to any of it in the least, as far as packing and lugging stuff up and down stairs goes.

I am pretty much ready to go back to class and work, however. I’ve got lots of new ideas for the yearbook Web site. Maybe not lots, but some. The only issue holding me back is the issue of the server, which is rather screwed up compared to the ones that I’m used to working with. We’ll just have to see what it lets me do.

Wonders of the Wii

I just got home from playing the Wii with some friends. It’s really quite amazing how much fun the Wii is when you get to play with other people. It’s quite unlike other game systems in that aspect. Some people just don’t “get” the Playstation 2 or the Xbox, but when you pull out something like Wii Sports or Rayman Raving Rabbids, they love it, even people who don’t normally like video games. Anyways, we all liked the raving “rabbids”. Truly insane and hilarious.

Tomorrow is my last day at home for awhile. I’m heading back to KSU on January 15th and school starts on the 17th. Winter break has went by so amazingly fast I can’t even believe it. I have to say that I’m both happy that semester is starting again and a bit sad. I do get bored when I’m home with nothing to do, but a new semester brings new stress and anxiousness. Not to mention I really would like to lose some weight this coming semester, but I’m a little unsure about how I’m going to balance trying to do that while working and doing school. We’ll see, I guess.

Of Textbooks

Okay, so, I had ordered all of my textbooks via Amazon.com because the price difference was so much that, even with the price of shipping included, books are incredibly cheaper online than in the bookstore. For instance, I need a Macroeconomics book that would cost $125 in the book store but I found it on Amazon for $62.50, with expedited shipping only making the grand total online $69.69. That’s a savings of $55.31. Unfortunately, I didn’t even know I needed said book until today because the professor had apparently been lazy and hadn’t notified the bookstore that that class required a book until at least a week or so ago. I am leaving for KSU on January 15th, and since I paid extra for the expedited shipping, I’m really hoping it will get here before then. I’ve sent an email to the Amazon seller about my circumstances and I really hope they will get the book out as soon as possible. I do not want to have to pay $125 for a book so that I have it for classes on top of the $69.69 I just paid for it online… Today is January 9th, and expedited shipping is supposed to take a maximum of 6 days, so as long as the seller reads my email and takes my pleas into account, I should hope it will arrive on time. Hopefully.

Quite obviously …

… that whole blogging sign thing didn’t work. Oh well. I’m alive and I’m doing well. I just can’t believe that this semester is quickly drawing to an end already. I just started college, or so it seems.

Anyways.

I’m not even sure what to blog about any more.

I have calculus and programming homework to attend to. I wish I had more to talk about but there you are.
