This tutorial will show how to load or install brushes into PhotoFiltre Studio.
You can only install brushes onto PhotoFiltre Studio, NOT the free version of PhotoFiltre. You can install brushes onto the free trial of PhotoFiltre Studio but just not the plain, free, PhotoFiltre.
I am writing this tutorial on a computer that uses Microsoft Windows XP (Media Center Edition) so this tutorial may vary slightly depending on your specific operating system.
- First of all, PhotoFiltre utlizes a very special format for its brushes and as such PhotoFiltre Studio cannot accept brushes made for other programs or even image packs. If you did not download a specific brush file for PhotoFiltre Studio then it most likely will not work.
- If you have PhotoFiltre Studio open, close it. Installing brushes may interfere with the program if you attempt to do so while having the program open.
- You will need to go into your installation folder for PhotoFiltre Studio. This is usually named “PhotoFiltre Studio” in your Program Files folder. This is the path that I used to get to my PhotoFiltre Studio installation folder:
My Computer >> C Drive >> Program Files >> PhotoFiltre Studio - Once in the PhotoFiltre Studio installation folder, navigate to the Brushes folder within that folder.
- Paste the PhotoFiltre Studio brush files that you downloaded into the Brushes folder you just opened.
- Open up PhotoFiltre Studio.
- Make sure your Tools palette is open. If it’s not, go to View, then to Tools palette. [View screenshot]
- Choose the Advanced Paintbrush tool on the Tools palette. [View screenshot]
- Click the folder icon in the lower left of the Tools palette. [View screenshot]
- Choose from the drop down list that appears the brush set you would like to use. [View screenshot]
- You should have now selected a brush set. Now you need to choose an individual brush from the set to use. Click on the drop down list below all the tools in the Tools palette to choose individual brushes. [View screenshot]
- You should be set. Simply click on the canvas to use the brushes.
